FBI seeks Tri-Cities Bandit in Southern California | The Associated Press | California | San Francisco ExaminerAugust 20, 2011
Okay, I have not posted in a few days because, frankly, I have’nt seen or heard anything noteworthy.
However, this is!
My first experience with the Los Angeles County Hall of Justice was as a kid when I went there to see my Dad receive a special commendation from the then Sheriff, Sherman Block. My Dad, myself, and family were driven there by my Dad’s Commander. When we arrived we exited the car near the front door. I looked up and saw the huge old building and the words, “Hall of Justice” on the marquee. As a kid it was like seeing the “bat cave.” For me, it was like going to the “holiest of hollys.”
Some years later I would return there myself as a “8 hour early morning shift visitor” with “H.O.J.J.”…the Hall of Justice Jail. I never saw the jail my first time around. Its a dark, dank, rat infested jail with low ceilings. Its an old jail with steel bars and tiers. It had a different smell than LA County Men’s Central Jail down the street…. It has back hallways for the Deputy assigned as the “prowler” would appear from…. It was a scarey place!
