“PAROLEE AT LARGE – SEX OFFENDER MAY BE IN YOUR AREA. VISIT THE ATTACHED LINK FOR MORE DETAILS AND A PHOTO” from Arcadia Police DepartmentSeptember 8, 2011
Thank You LASD!!!! Less than a week this poo butt was on the street. Job Well Done! !!!!!!
This is the typical work of the LASD that I am used to seeing….
Sounds to me like the LASD has nothing to defend….. This is the first fatal incident since 1993…. These Deputies were 10-97/on scene four minutes after the train stopped…. The Detectives that are handling this case are working on identifying the outstanding suspect from a surveillance tape…..
As a citizen of Los Angeles County, hearing about this sort of response to this type of an incident fills me with pride. Its an obvious display of dedication, committment, and professionalism.
The LASD is getting kind of a bad rap right now. They’re being accused of racial bias out in the Landcaster. Ive read a few of the articles written about whats going on. It reminds me of cases and complaints past.
This is the best, most ironic thing: I also read an article recently about the Lancaster Burglary Team that is being commended for making a huge seizure of pot and arrests based on Deputies literally smelling the weed!
Ya know, Ive known a few Deputies and worked with a few Deputies in my time…. I feel safe at night because of them and their caliber!
Los Angeles County Jail Inmates Engaging in New Phone Fraud Scam
Posted: 18 Aug 2011 10:17 AM PDT
Beware – inmates who are incarcerated in the Los Angeles County jail are targeting random members of the public with a new phone fraud scam. Inmates are calling people and yelling “Emergency!” while a recorded warning plays that states the call is from an inmate so that the receiver of the call cannot hear the warning.
The inmate then states that he works at the jail and has information about a loved one that has been injured or arrested and tells the victim to call a sergeant for more information. This is where the “prank” call turns into fraud and ends up costing the victim. The inmate instructs the victim to dial *72 followed by a phone number, the number of which is usually to a girlfriend or a fellow gang member. *72 is actually a code that transfers a call to the phone number that follows it.
Inmates then make calls to that number without the victim’s knowledge at the expense of the victim. And because collect calls are so expensive, victim’s phone bills can total thousands of dollars before they even become aware of the issue.
Law enforcement urges anyone who appears to be a victim of this scam to hang up and call their local sheriff’s department.
Okay, I have not posted in a few days because, frankly, I have’nt seen or heard anything noteworthy.
However, this is!
My first experience with the Los Angeles County Hall of Justice was as a kid when I went there to see my Dad receive a special commendation from the then Sheriff, Sherman Block. My Dad, myself, and family were driven there by my Dad’s Commander. When we arrived we exited the car near the front door. I looked up and saw the huge old building and the words, “Hall of Justice” on the marquee. As a kid it was like seeing the “bat cave.” For me, it was like going to the “holiest of hollys.”
Some years later I would return there myself as a “8 hour early morning shift visitor” with “H.O.J.J.”…the Hall of Justice Jail. I never saw the jail my first time around. Its a dark, dank, rat infested jail with low ceilings. Its an old jail with steel bars and tiers. It had a different smell than LA County Men’s Central Jail down the street…. It has back hallways for the Deputy assigned as the “prowler” would appear from…. It was a scarey place!

SAN GABRIEL, Calif. — Los Angeles County authorities say a family dispute has ended with a stabbing attack that killed a woman and injured her sister and estranged husband.
The husband is considered a person of interest in the attack, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday near San Gabriel.
Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Rosson tells the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that a wounded woman called 911 from a neighbor’s house and arriving deputies found her sister dead in a nearby home. She’d been stabbed several times in the chest.
The husband was found in front of the home and he’s hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Rosson tells KABC-TV says the man apparently had been invited into the home for an attempted conciliation.
The surviving sister is in stable condition.
No names have been released.
